The windswept fishing village of Lüderitz in southern Namibia started life as a picturesque German colonial town known for its diamonds and seafood. A number of fine colonial buildings, a small museum and the Old Post Office are features of the village and makes Lüderitz a facinating travel destination Zum Sperrgebiet, a tourist class hotel, is situated in a quite residential area with a panoramic view over the city, harbor and bay of the historic town of Lüderitz. The hotels 22 rooms are tastefully furnished and have en-suite bathrooms with either bath or shower. A single room and 18 of the double rooms have a panoramic view from their balconies over the town, harbor and bay. All rooms have direct-line telephone, coffee- and tea making facilities, radio and three-channel TV. WILDERNESS DAMARALAND CAMP
Accommodation at Damaraland Camp consists of eight large tents with quality furnishings which flank a central lapa with a bar and dining room. Every tent has an amazing view and activities include walks and drives in search of desert elephant and black rhino. Activities revolve around nature drives and walks into the Huab River system. Stargazing is "par excellence" because of crystal-clear night skies. There are no fences in the area which gives one a complete feeling of freedom. Damaraland Camp is set in central Damaraland on the southern slopes of the Huab River. The Damara name is derived from the Nama word "Dama", meaning "who walked here". This is because the Damara people were known to the Nama people by the footprints they left around water holes.
HANSA HOTEL - SWAKOPMUND
This four star hotel is situated in the centre of Swakopmund and offers easy access to everything Swakopmund has to offer. The Hansa has 58 super rooms including 5 luxury suites, all with bathrooms en-suite, under carpet heating, TV and many other amenities. This luxury tented mobile camp can be easily moved if local game movements deem it necessary. A maximum of twelve guests will have the rare pleasure of exploring this wild and remote area in the company of the dedicated conservationists hosting them, together with local trackers. The camp has large “meru” tents with en-suite facilities including bucket showers with hot water on call. There are large populations of Hartman’s mountain zebra, giraffe, oryx, springbok and kudu. The predator population is the largest outside of the Etosha National Park with over 100 lions, cheetah, leopard, brown and spotted hyena. Bird life is prolific and diverse with most of Namibia’s endemics present. This concession supports a healthy population of desert adapted black rhino and elephants.
SWAKOPMUND HOTEL
Swakopmund, Namibia's "doorway to the Skeleton Coast" . This charming community located along the coast and a short distance from Sossusvlei or heading in the other direction , the Skeleton Coast is a great place to stop and play or just spend the night. MIt’s 88 rooms and 2 luxury suites are all decorated in a Victorian style reminiscent of a bygone era of grace and civility. Rooms have individual air conditioning, television, tea/coffee making facilities, bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, direct dial phones, electronic safes, electric razor plugs, fully stocked mini bars, hair dryers, eight channel TV including a German channel and MNet. SKELETON COAST CAMP
Skeleton Coast Camp has exclusive use of about 600,000 acres of wild, desolate and stunningly beautiful Skeleton Coast Park. The area has soaring sand dunes, towering canyons, mountains, salt pans, seal colonies and shipwrecks. The tented rooms are on raised wooden decks with en-suite bathrooms providing flush toilet, hand basin and shower. The rooms are attractively furnished incorporating locally found natural materials and all rooms have overhead fans and 12v lighting. The main area incorporates a dining room, lounge and bar area surrounded by glass concertina doors to allow for uninterrupted views of the desert beyond. In fair weather we dine alfresco under an ancient leadwood tree, around the camp fire under the stars.
LITTLE KULALA
Little Kulala has some of the design features Kulala Desert Lodge, but is smaller and is situated on the dry Auab River bed. It offers accommodation in eight thatched and canvas chalets or "Kulalas" Each unit is set on wooden platforms to provide maximum airflow, and has its own private en-suite bathroom and wrap-around verandah with a small plunge pool. An internal staircase leads to the flat roof top above the bathroom which provides an ideal setting to spend the evening stargazing in your own private confines. An accommodation option for outdoor enthusiasts are bedrolls for the roof top to sleep under the stars The main area has a lounge, dining room, bar, curio shop and swimming pool — all under thatch.
KULALA DESERT LODGE
The Kulala Desert Lodge borders the Namib Naukluft Park, it offers splendid views of the Sossusvlei Dunes as well as spectacular mountain scenery. The lodge itself is built in an African style using a combination of clay and thatch. Accommodation at Kulala Desert Lodge is in one of twelve thatched and canvas chalets or "Kulalas" (Kulala in the Namibian language "oshiwambo" means "to sleep") with en-suite bathrooms and showers. Each unit has a veranda with views of the dunes and total privacy. Kulala Desert Lodge has a lounge, bar dining area and small pool. A veranda overlooks the waterhole allowing views of wildlife and the wide open spaces of the Namib Desert.
WOLWEDANS CAMP
Once the hunting ground of the Spotted Hyena, Wolwedans takes its name from the African for "where the wolves dance." Wolwedans Dune Camp is nestled amidst the dunes surrounding the NamibRand Nature Reserve, the Camp offers a rustic desert experience. The camp consists of six accommodation units and the lapa area where guests meet for sundowners, dinner and breakfast. The entire camp is constructed on wooden platforms and overlooks panoramic vistas in all directions. Guests stay in comfortable tents furnished with standard beds, bedside tables, and a suitcase rack. Each unit has a private veranda and an en-suite bathroom fitted with hot shower, washbasin and flush toilet. All lighting throughout the tent is provided by solar power. The lapa opens out onto a veranda with a superb view of the surroundings and consists of a lounge, dining area and an open-plan kitchen. Spacious decks provide a relaxed atmosphere for socializing or star gazing.
The Mountain View Suite is a new addition to the Dunes Lodge. Just over 200 square meters of deck rising above the dunes provides ample living space and adds a touch of luxury to the Wolwedans Collection. Located within walking distance from the Wolwedans Dunes Lodge, yet secluded, and nestled amidst a magnificent dunes landscape, The Suite allows friends of Wolwedans to spend more than two nights in a homely and stylish atmosphere with ample space, maximum comfort and a high degree of privacy. The Suite consists of a spacious bedroom with a king-size double bed allowing guests to enjoy the view of their private dune valley to the fullest. There is a en-suite bathroom facility with two wash basins, a shower and toilet. A shaded patio, provides an ideal venue for out-door meals and relaxed hours in the shade floating about in a hammock.
Wolwedans Private Camp is situated in the quiet seclusion of an idyllic valley, the Private Camp - catering to four guests, is the perfect getaway for honeymooners or individuals seeking uncompromising privacy and solitude. The Private Camp suite comprises two spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, a veranda and the lounge, combining a study, a living-room arrangement, a dining area and a fully equipped open plan kitchen. The building style is a combination of wood and canvas, and the carefully selected furnishings bring alive the true romance of Africa. The Private Camp requires a minimum stay of two nights and is only available from 15 December to 15 March. The camp can also be booked with all services and activities including a private chef and personal field guide.
SOSSUSVLEI WILDERNESS CAMP
Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp is situated 34 kilometres from Sesriem, the entrance to Sossusvlei within the heart of Namibia's Namib Desert. This is one of the most remarkable sites in the Namib Naukluft National Park and the Namib Desert. Huge towering dunes, the highest in the world, rise dramatically over 1000 feet above the surrounding plains at Sossusvlei itself. The spectacle of changing colours and the lonely Oryx silhouetted against red dunes is one which visitors and photographers from around the world come to capture on film. The camp is built near the top of a mountain, using natural materials of brick, rock, timber and thatch, and provides a refuge from the desert. There are only nine guest rooms, each with its own private plunge pool. The rooms are superbly appointed and offer comfort and atmosphere. The en-suite bathrooms also have panoramic views overlooking the plains below and have hot and cold running water, showers and flush toilets. The main living area is under thatch with a pool. The camp has an outdoor deck where guests enjoy dinner under the stars and a dedicated star-gazing platform with a powerful telescope for those keen on admiring the night skies.
SOSSUSVLEI MOUNTAIN LODGE
Cradled against ancient mountains, Sossusvlei Mountain lodge's décor embraces muted hues of ochre, umber and ivory. MOKUTI LODGE
Mokuti Lodge is strategically placed only 200m from the Von Lindequist gate, the eastern entrance to the Etosha National Park, one of Africa's most awe-inspiring game parks. 'Mokuti' in the language of the local Owambo people, means 'in the bush', however, the quality of comfort and service offered ensures its guests of a memorable and relaxing sojourn. LITTLE ONGAVA
Little Ongava is situated within the Ongava Game Reserve, a private 30 000 hectare game reserve that is located adjacent to the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. Little Ongava is built along a crest of a hill with wonderful views onto the plains below and is the ideal lodge from which to base your activities when visiting Etosha. Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Gemsbok, Springbok, and Hartebeest can be seen at many of the water holes in the park. The Ongava Reserve has resident White and Black Rhino, giving guests staying at Little Ongava the opportunity to see both species. Ongava is situated in Ongava Private Game Reserve which shares a common border with Etosha on its southern boundary.
